Sheila Cantrell
Sheila Cantrell and daughter, Allison Ausley
Sheila Cantrell's first introduction to drawing was through a community art class
offered in her home town of Pine Bluff a few months after Allison's birth.
That was the first step of a journey which has taken her from fledgling hobbyist to
professional artist. By age three, Allison was emulating her mother, spending hour
after of hour of "playtime" by drawing as well.
Sheila Cantrell's work was featured in the Winter 2006 issue of Drawing,
an American Artist Magazine publication, and her work has been selected for
inclusion in a SmithKramer exhibition that will travel during 2008-2010
titled The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century.
In addition, she has exhibited her work at the M.A. Doran Gallery in Tulsa,
the Sherry French Gallery in New York City, and the Manitou Gallery in Santa Fe.
Ms. Cantrell is a member of the International Guild of Realism and the
Colored Pencil Society of America.
Allison Ausley's work has been included in several major exhibitions
including the American Academy of Equine Art in Lexington, KY, the annual
art show at the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco, CA, and the Bosque
