I moved to this artistic area from Racine, Wisconsin where my art interests expanded. My love of gardening, animals and all of nature, influences
my works of art.

In 1999, the beauty of a Sumi-e demonstration given by Rita Bohn brought me to tears, Learning all I could from Rita. I began teaching classes and embarked on a quest to learn more.

Sumi-e is the the art of painting from the Orient. Simplicity, spontaneity, asymmetry, elegance and serenity are the basic elements of Sumi-e painting. More than an art form, it is a spiritual path to inner peace and harmony.
