3rd Friday at The FAC

  • Art in the Ouachita Mountains

    When: January 20, 2012 - 6:30 to 9:00pm

The 3rd Friday at FAC for January features Art in the Ouachita Mountains. This free event combines the artwork of the Three Rivers Art Guild exhibited in the front gallery and eclectic music created by Oksana Pavilionis, concert violinist. A few of the exhibiting artists will be on hand to talk about their artwork; how the natural state inspires their creativity, and the techniques they use to make the best use of their medium.

Oksana Pavilionis is a premier concert violinist who is able to go from heart warming Rachmaninoff to a lilting waltz by Strauss and then fiddle, making you believe she was born in the Ozark Mountains. Oksana began playing at age five and began teaching shortly after that. At age thirteen she was given charge of younger students to improve their musicianship. She has played at concert halls across the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Sweden, and Poland. Samples of her music can be found on her website: http://www.myspace.com/oksanapavilionis

Light refreshments will be provided; donations are appreciated.

The Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and its programs like Art in the Ouachita Mountains are supported by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
